In the nineteenth century, there was immediate cash value for recyclable
materials such as rags, paper, bones, and scrap metals.
Below are some photos of our exciting mural project being done
by Jeff Maltby on our Ellice Recycle building that depicts some
of the history of recycling. A street scene is appearing with peddlers,
ragpickers, and scrap metal dealers as they collect and trade recyclable
goods just before the turn of the 20th century.
